Collegiate Accommodation Support Service (CASS)
The Collegiate Accommodation Support Service (CASS) is open to graduate offer-holders who are due to enrol on a full-time course at the University of Oxford. Current graduate students on a full-time course may also apply, but priority is given to offer-holders who are about to begin their first year of study.
The aim of CASS is two-fold:
- To provide a platform through which Colleges can let any unused rooms to students from other Colleges.
- To provide a single point of contact for eligible offer-holders who have not been successful in securing accommodation through their own College or with the University’s Graduate Accommodation Office.
CASS will guide you through the available options in seeking accommodation.
Accommodation
Room availability and types vary each year depending on College availability. When a room becomes available, we’ll provide details about the room and College facilities. Please note that most rooms available through CASS are expected to have shared bathroom facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
To join the CASS waiting list, students must:
- Be an offer-holder due to be enrolled on a full-time graduate course at the University of Oxford (prioritised), or
- Be a current student on a full-time graduate course and
- Not already hold accommodation through their College or the University Graduate Accommodation Office.
Students may join the University’s Graduate Accommodation waiting list, but if you are made an offer by both the Accommodation Office and CASS, you will be able to accept only one offer.
How to apply
CASS accommodation is available only to full-time graduate offer-holders or students only. Please visit the eligibility criteria above for further information.
- Due to the demand for Graduate accommodation, Graduate offer-holders due to start their first year or study will be prioritised. We will then hold a second waiting list for continuing students.
- Applications for accommodation from Michaelmas Term 2025 will open from 21 July 2025.
- Students need to refer to the application form to apply to join the waiting list.
- All sections should be completed where asked.
- All initial communication will be through CASS.
- Once a student has submitted the form, they will receive an acknowledgment from CASS that the application has been received, and is being reviewed.
- Once CASS has completed the eligibility checks, they will confirm by email to the students if they have been added to the waiting list.
- If successful, in the first correspondence, they will be notified of their position on the waiting list.
- The student will be contacted every two weeks with an update of their place on the waiting list and any other updates that we can provide.
When a College room becomes available:
- Priority will be given to offer-holders with a College place at that specific College.
- If not, offers will be made based on waiting list position and suitability (with first-year offer-holders prioritised).
- Students will be contacted to discuss the accommodation offer, and must respond within 48 hours of the offer being made.
If accepted, the host College will contact you directly with the licence agreement and deposit details.
If you decline or fail to respond within 48 hours, you will be removed from the waiting list. If you wish to reapply, you will be placed at the bottom of the list.
